John Stockman (custom) > I made this cabinet out of some 13-layer Finnish plywood that was left over from a remodeling project. The cabinet for a built-in oven had to be dis-mantled, and I discovered it was made from this 13-layer stuff! Enough left to make speaker enclosures. The woofers are from MCM, 6.5" aluminum cone, and the tweeter is an Audax TM020 titanium dome. A slot-vent on the top/rear is used along with two horizontal perimeter braces. Front baffle is 1.5" thick, so is the rear baffle.

John Stockman (custom) > The Seas/DefTech 2-way...if you want to see the original version, they're on the last page (#16) of this gallery. I attached a new 3/4" baffle to the old boxes for the new drivers in these. The old ones were surface mounted, these are flush.

John Stockman (custom) > After some practice with using quarter-round edges and oak veneer, I applied what I learned to this small cabinet. I used a thick (1/16") oak veneer and some of those "buy-out" drivers from Parts Express. An aluminum dome tweeter with a Dayton 6.5" woofer in a 7 liter sealed enclosure. I used a simple 1st order x-over @4200Hz for the tweeter and 1st order @3500Hz on the woofer.

John Stockman (custom) > These x-overs are for a new project, my Focal TC90td5 tweeters and Vifa P17WJ woofers. 2nd order lo-pass on top, 3rd order hi-pass on bottom. This is the alignment that was worked up for me by Dick Morgan, the "old speaker guy" from the PE forum. He used Speaker Workshop and the frd and zma files I supplied.
