The black coating on the interior is the Cascade Audio VB-1x. Not only does it reduce cabinet resonance, it also seals the surface and all the seams. You only need about 1/16" thickness.

This is the maple veneer with 4 coats of maple "wipe on" stain and 6 coats of satin polyurethane. Everything is done except for the paint on the front baffle.
